A time to be loud
16 Oct 2026
Form 2 performed a wonderful assembly of The Gruffalo! They spoke so clearly and confidently and every child did an amazing job. They participated in the Perform Drama Workshop earlier in the week, which always delivers the maximum in both energy and excitement!

This week in maths, the children have been busy learning about money. We set up a Form 2 shop where the children used real coins to buy items in the classroom, helping them develop their money skills in a fun and practical way. They have also been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In English, the children have been writing about tigers using their word banks to help them describe these amazing animals. They have also been writing about themselves, using adjectives to describe their own qualities and characteristics. The class also had a really fun drama workshop about recycling, reusing and reducing rubbish.
In science, the children have been exploring the sense of smell. They used their noses to investigate a variety of smells, including vinegar, lemon, coffee, sweets and marmite. The children discussed their favourite and least favourite smells and then created a human bar chart to show the results. What a fun and engaging way to collect and represent data.
In humanities, the children have been learning about George Stephenson and the history of steam trains. They discovered lots of interesting facts and they used their creativity to design and draw their own steam trains.

Well done, Form 2, for another fantastic week of learning!
