When in Rome…
09 Oct 2026
Form 4 had an exciting trip to Kent Life this week to take part in an immersive Roman experience.

They got to meet a Roman slave, a Roman centurion, a tanner and even Boudicca during the day. They also took part in a range of activities, such as learning to march as an army, working as a team to build a straight road and making a leather amulet with their chosen initials stamped on it. There was even time to revisit Big Dave, the resident pig on the farm who the children remembered! The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned a lot about life in Britain during Roman times.

In science, the children were experimenting with transparent, translucent and opaque materials and looking at the shadows that could be made with them. They also had time to research typical Roman towns in their humanities lesson.
Maths has focused on subtraction this week and in English they have written recounts of their trip.
